Job Description
Background
Capital Partners for Education (CPE) makes a college degree possible for low-income youth in the Washington, DC area. Since 1993, we have connected motivated students from low-income families with the opportunities, resources, and guidance they need to graduate from high school and college and pursue professional careers. CPE provides students with a unique combination of one-on-one mentoring, individualized staff support, college and career readiness programming, and scholarships. The Administrative Assistant will work closely with CPE's Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Development & Communications Director to perform administrative duties.
Responsibilities include:
· Screening calls
· Managing calendars
· Making travel, meeting, and event arrangements
· Preparing reports and financial data
· Ordering office supplies
· Coordinating service deliveries with vendors
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Strong computer and Internet research skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Project coordination experience
· Ability to work in a small, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
· Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
· Sensitivity to confidential matters
General information:
The Administrative Assistant is paid hourly. Schedules are flexible, but 20 hours/week and at least 3 days per week are required.
