[YEP-DC] Board Membership Opportunities at DCAYA

Thank you!

DCAYA, (www.dc-aya.org)  a 501©(3) nonprofit organization, is a citywide coalition of 130 youth-serving organizations working to ensure that policy, practice and funding in DC promote and propel children and youth into productive and healthy adulthood. Through exceptional research and analysis, policy advocacy, awareness raising and community engagement DCAYA is the pre-eminent youth advocacy voice in the District.

DCAYA's portfolio is organized around four key issue areas: Quality education and universal access to expanded learning programs; strengthening the District's youth workforce development system; ending youth homelessness and re-connecting disconnected youth to educational and workforce opportunities.

DCAYA is looking to add two new Board Members - we are seeking individuals who live in the Metro region, who are committed to youth development and who can bring some critical skills to our leadership team- specifically finance (non-profit financial management is a plus) and event planning. The board meets 4 times a year, and committees meet on an as needed basis. Board members are asked to support committees, resource development efforts and are asked to contribute financially. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in the local political arena, has a passion for research, policy development and advocacy, and wants to be more engaged in the non-profit world of the District of Columbia.

Please see the attached descriptions for greater detail. Please send nominations (including most up-to date resume, and short letter of interest) to me, maggie@dc-aya.org. Selected applicants/nominations will notified to set up in person meetings with the board development committee.

Thanks in advance for considering this opportunity and/or sharing it with your networks.
