Position: Director of Program Partnerships

Organization Overview

One World Education (OWEd) is a nonprofit leader providing middle and high school Common Core writing programs and publishing student essays about cultural and global issues. Since 2007, the organization has been promoting peer-to-peer learning and helping students build the skills necessary for college and career level writing.

Position Summary

Despite growing into the largest writing program in DC schools, OWEd has never initiated a focused expansion plan.  This team leader will help craft, direct, and implement OWEd's expansion into more public, charter, and independent schools, in addition to establishing meaningful partnerships with education organizations and conferences.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Present programming to school and organizational leaders
  • Establish partnerships/contracts with school networks
  • Form partnerships with education organizations to leverage exposure and audience
  • Leverage program expansion through newsletters, social media, publishing, and more to promote organization's expertise
Qualifications
  • Former educator or work experience within an education organization
  • Proven results leading outreach and sales

Requirements

  • Available to work approx. 22 hours per week (including Tue-Thu) in OWEd's Columbia Heights office
  • Access to personal laptop computer for use in and out of office
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Start Date: April 1, 2015

Compensation: 25K-30K
