Living in a Resilient City: An Ecosystem Challenge
Thursday, October 9, 6:30 pm—8:30 pm
Join the Koshland Science Museum for a fun and interactive program where you decide how to make Washington, DC, a more resilient place to live and work. Participate on a team to determine how to mitigate the urban heat island effect, manage storm water, and use wetlands as buffers for storm damage.
Special guests include: Amanda Staudt, Director, Board on Atmospheric Sciences and Climate, National Research Council; Jennifer Judd Hinrichs, Convener, Sustainable Urban Forests Coalition; Rob McDonald, Senior Urban Scientist, The Nature Conservancy; and Joshua Kurtz, Policy and Program Associate, The Nature Conservancy, MD/DC Chapter.
Admission is $10 ($7 for students & fellows) and includes free pizza. Advance ticket purchase recommended:
