As a requirement for graduation, seniors at Cesar Chavez School of Public Policy are expected to write a 15-20 page public policy paper on a topic of their choice. Samples of this year's topics include gun control, use of drones in Pakistan, gay marriage, sweatshops, immigration and online piracy, just to name a few.
Scholars have been researching a public policy topic of their choice for the academic year. They will present their findings and proposal in a formal oral PowerPoint presentation. The presentation will last 15 to 20 minutes.
We would like to invite you to participate as a panelist for students' thesis presentations this spring.
The presentations will take place Tuesday, May 21st , Wednesday May 22nd, and Thursday, May 23rd from 5–7 pm.
Please consider volunteering; your expertise and interest in public policy will be very instrumental to this culminating experience for students.
The responsibility of the panelist is to evaluate the scholars' findings, based on a rubric given. Sessions will be held simultaneously in different classrooms each night. One of the sessions will be bilingual; please let us know if you want to be placed on one of these panels.
If you would like to volunteer on Tuesday, May 21st or Wednesday, May 22nd at our Parkside Campus (Minnesota Ave Metro) please contact ps.thesis@chavezschools.org.
If you would like to volunteer on Wednesday, May 22nd or Thursday, May 23rd at our Capitol Hill Campus (Eastern Market Metro) please contact ch.thesis@chavezschools.org.
Thanks! We hope to see you there!
