While the "education wars" dominate media coverage of school reform debates, largely unnoticed research is mounting that student outcomes are strongest in districts pursuing intensive collaboration among teachers and administrators rather than conflict. Please join us to discuss a new Century Foundation e-book synthesizing that research with a panel of leading educators who have hands-on experience working to fundamentally transform school cultures. This will be a very different conversation from most education reform events, focusing on ideas that are demonstrably working, even in urban settings.
Randi Weingarten,
President of the American Federation of Teachers
Paul Reville,
former Massachusetts Secretary of Education and Professor of Practice at Harvard's Graduate School of Education
Laura Mitchell,
Deputy Superintendent of Cincinnati Public Schools
Harriet Sanford,
President of the NEA Foundation
Greg Anrig,
Vice President of Policy at The Century Foundation and author of Beyond the Education Wars: Evidence that Collaboration Builds Effective Schools
MODERATED BY Dana Goldstein,
Fellow at The New America Foundation and The Nation Institute
