Re: [dcab-l] Tiffany Tavern

I've followed DCAB-L for some time, but I don't think I've ever posted.  This is truly sad news.  I experienced a huge culture shock when I moved up from NC in mid-2007.  I love Northern Virginia now, but for some time it was at least partly this institution's down-home atmosphere, charm, and familiar sounds that kept me from abandoning the area.  The older coffee-drinking crowd that occupied the "stage"-front booths on weekends were always the best.  I hope Ted and Nancy are doing well, and that the health issues are not too serious.

I'm talking about the place as if it's already closed.  I'm hoping it hasn't.  I'd like to stop in for a final drink.

I have just posted the following on the DCBU home page.
Tiffany Tavern Closes!
I have been informed by Nancy Herman of Tiffany's, that due to health issues, she has decided to close down after more than 30 years of great music in Old Town Alexandria, VA... Having played there myself in years past, I know the music, comaraderie and fun shall be missed!.. Bill Foster
