[YEP-DC] Volunteers needed for April Report Card Conferences!

WHAT:

Volunteers are needed to serve as short-term mentors for middle and high school students. Students' term grades and coursework history will be provided, along with DC graduation requirements. Students and mentors will discuss whether students are on track to graduate, and then create action steps together. These conversations provide students an opportunity to proactively problem-solve with a caring adult without judgment.

WHEN: 

Monday, April 27-Thursday, April 30

During the selected volunteer date(s), mentors are asked to commit to at least one shift, listed below. Shifts reflect time for a brief training beforehand. Arrangements can be made for those wishing to remain on site for multiple shifts per day!

8:45AM-10:15AM

10:15AM-11:45AM

11:30AM-1:00PM

12:15PM-1:45PM

1:45PM-3:15PM

We should have capacity for 30 volunteers/shift on Monday and Thursday, and 5 volunteers/shift on Tuesday and Wednesday. This volunteer event has been streamlined by school administration, allowing for additional collaboration among school staff.

WHERE: 

Cardozo Education Campus (1200 Clifton St. NW)

Limited street parking is available, and the school is within walking distance of both the U Street and Columbia Heights Metro Stations (yellow/green lines).
