Dear Friend of Eastern,
As we begin the fourth quarter of the school year, it is a wonderful time to reflect on the successes of the first three quarters and all that our Ramblers have accomplished. They've had an exciting year so far: our football team won a state championship, the Class of 2015 has submitted close to 1,500 college applications, and we continue to send students on international travel experiences. As we look forward to both graduation and prom, we are also eagerly anticipating our fourth annual career day (Legacy Day), which is always a highlight of the spring for our students.
Last year, over 100 professionals shared their stories with Ramblers in all grades. We cordially invite you to share your life and career experiences with students at our Fourth Annual Legacy Day on Thursday, April 30th from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Guests will gather for light refreshments and a short presentation by Principal Skerritt. They will then speak to two ninth, tenth, or eleventh grade classes about their life's path and current career. Each class will hear from a panel of three to four professionals at a time. There is no need to prepare a formal presentation; just arrive ready to share your experiences and dialogue with students and other members of the panel. If you would like to volunteer to speak at Career Day, please complete this two minute interest form by Thursday, April 16th. We will then follow up with final details for participants.
If you are unable to participate in Legacy Day, but you have a colleague who would be able to attend to share his or her experiences, please feel free to forward this email. Our student body has many diverse interests, and we are looking for professionals in as many fields as possible to present.
If you cannot commit to Career Day this year, commit to supporting Eastern's Legacy Classes in one of the following ways:
- "Like" Us on Facebook
- Follow Us on Twitter
- Donate
- Provide Supplies
- Attend Student Events
- Link Us to Your Harris Teeter VIC Card, Target RedCard, or Safeway Club Card

We look forward to welcoming you and your colleagues to engage our students on April 30th!
Best,
Amanda Jarrard
