You're invited to attend ETS's 2015 Angoff Memorial Lecture: Evaluating the Quality of Accountability Systems: Beyond Reliability and Validity Tuesday, April 21, 2015 Lecture: 2–3:30 p.m. – Ballroom Reception: 3:30–5 p.m. – Holeman Lounge | National Press Club 529 14th St. NW, 13th Floor Washington, DC 20006 | Please join us for ETS's 15th William H. Angoff Memorial Lecture, "Evaluating the Quality of Accountability Systems: Beyond Reliability and Validity." There is currently a policy debate surrounding the appropriate way to hold schools, districts and teachers accountable for student achievement. In this year's lecture, Brian Gong — Executive Director of The National Center for the Improvement of Educational Assessment — will discuss how these evaluations differ from measuring student achievement. In his presentation, he will discuss why accountability should be treated separately from other evaluations. While accountability systems may be based on valid and reliable assessments, Brian Gong will suggest that the use of these assessments for new evaluation scores — for the purpose of rating schools, districts and teachers — actually may NOT be valid. Register here for this lecture. If you have any questions, please contact Kimberly Ayotte at kayotte@ets.org. We look forward to seeing you in Washington, D.C.
