What if you became part of the movement for public education reform in our nation's capital? We believe teachers are the most important lever in improving student outcomes and closing the achievement gap. Capital Teaching Residency is currently seeking individuals to fill our limited remaining early childhood education positions in our 2015-2016 CTR cohort. Join us in making a difference by submitting an online application for the Capital Teaching Residency by our Priority Early Childhood Deadline on Monday, April 27th! Click here to see Capital Teaching Residents in action! The Capital Teaching Residency (CTR) is a nationally recognized, highly selective teacher training program that provides a pathway for aspiring teachers to develop into outstanding educators prepared to serve in high-need schools in Washington, D.C. CTRs make a commitment to teach for a minimum of three years in Washington, D.C. Residents spend the first year of this commitment—their residency year—training in a classroom with a host teacher. CTRs are initially placed at KIPP DC or E.L Haynes, two high-performing D.C. public charter schools. Throughout this time, the program supports CTRs as they develop into skilled educators through intensive coaching, focused professional development coursework, and daily practice perfecting their skills in a real classroom. After successfully completing their residency and all associated requirements, CTR alumni remain in the classroom for at least two more years and continue to teach at E.L. Haynes, KIPP DC, or partner public charter schools across D.C. | | | | For more information about the Capital Teaching Residency, please visit our website here. If you have any questions regarding Capital Teaching Residency, email Isabelle Cross, Manager of CTR Recruitment and Selection (isabelle.cross@kippdc.org). Due to our limited remaining openings within the CTR cohort, we strongly encourage applicants to apply as soon as possible! We look forward to seeing your application! Sincerely, Capital Teaching Residency Recruitment Team | | | | | | | |
