[YEP-DC] Job Posting: Research Analyst at Collegiate Directions, Inc. (CDI)

Collegiate Directions, Inc. (CDI) seeks a qualified part-time Research Analyst for a non-profit, educational program. CDI serves high-achieving, low-income, first-generation-to-college students in Montgomery County, MD, and Washington, DC public and public charter schools. The program identifies Scholars in the 10th grade and supports them throughout college to ensure persistence and graduation. 

The Research Analyst will serve a key role in identifying compelling data points to highlight CDI's work, assess areas for future development, and to inform programmatic changes.  This position would require 10-12 hours a week, some of which may be done off-site. The position would be for a 6-month contract with the possibility of renewal.

 General Research Analyst duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with team to develop research questions, conduct needs assessments, and perform statistical and qualitative analyses of existing student and program data. Examples include analyzing student performance data to identify gaps and trends, and developing data driven continuous improvement strategies for CDI.
  • Collecting, synthesizing, and analyzing data from a variety of internal and external sources
  • Presenting data in a variety of digestible and compelling ways for diverse stakeholders
  • Developing surveys and analyzing responses to gauge student and alumni experiences
  • Working closely with Development and Communications team members and President to translate key data into meaningful communication.
  • Developing short and long term research and analytical goals for CDI that align with the organization's mission and future goals
  • Willingness to complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required

  • Master's degree in Education, Public Policy, Sociology, Economics, or related field
  • 3-5 years experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to work with a dynamic team
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with high accuracy in a fast-paced environment

 Preferred

  • Doctoral work in statistics, policy analysis, or education research
  • Familiarity with key policy and research issues related to college admissions and completion
  • Preference will be given to current doctoral students or recent doctoral graduates 

Salary: $10,000 for 10-12 hours/week
