THE ORGANIZATION:

Leading Educators partners with states, districts and charter management organizations to advance teachers' leadership skills and opportunities, building a national movement to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed in school and life. Our goal is to bolster the talent pipeline via identifying and training strong potential teacher leaders and, in turn, increasing student achievement and developing the skills and sustainability of teachers on our teacher leaders' teams.

 

Leading Educators runs a two-year Fellowship for middle leaders in schools. The program encompasses targeted training experiences, the community of a peer cohort, and the personal support of a coach in order to develop leadership and management skills that drive student achievement growth. We serve Fellows in Kansas City, New Orleans, Washington, D.C., and Memphis.

 

Leading Educators also provides targeted Strategic Consulting on a contract basis to districts including Denver, Houston, Washington, D.C., Michigan, New York City, and Chicago with the Academy for Urban School Leadership, and Teach for America.  

 

 

 

 

THE POSITION:

 

The Teacher Leadership Innovation (TLI) Program Manager serves as the interface between the team and teacher leaders. In this partnership with D.C. Public Schools, teacher leaders collaborate with their school leadership to drive school wide change.

 

The TLI Program Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the TLI team reporting directly to the TLI Program Director. This fast paced position will require someone adept at managing multiple work streams simultaneously.  The TLI Program Manager builds and sustains positive, productive professional relationships with program staff and external partners and will be responsible for supporting the TLI team with the coordination of projects, logistics for events.  As a key position in the entrepreneurial organization, the TLI Program Manager offers opportunities for development and advancement for self-motivated and driven candidates.

Reporting to the Program Director, the Program Manager will assume the following responsibilities:

Program Management and Communications

·         Serve as the primary point of program contact for all teacher leaders, and guide the flow of communications, both individual and broad, to participants regarding all program components

·         Track and report teacher leader and program data and create clean, visually pleasing, and presentable reports, highlighting trends in data

·         Manage program related budgets

·         Support vision for TLI culture by developing and executing on initiatives and strategies

·         Train and trouble-shoot user issues to ensure teacher leaders online portal is maximally beneficial

 

 

Program Event Planning

·         Manage the logistics and operations associated with training events, including but not limited to:  Monthly Workshops, Impact Initiative Showcases, and other events.

·         Craft the look and feel of event design according to regional objectives and lead event execution

·         Manage all assigned deliverables including venue, talent, catering, A/V equipment, transportation and post-event analysis

·         Serve as the primary interface for event and logistics staff at venues, troubleshooting issues and ensuring positive public relations and effective execution

 

Data Management

·         Ensuring accuracy of all aspects of teacher leader data in Salesforce data management software

 

Administrative Support

·         Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies and placing orders

·         Track and submit expense reports and assist with other internal financial reports

·         Maintains office equipment to include copier, projector, and phones by troubleshooting failures, monitoring operation and calling for service

·         Performs routine administrative duties as needed

 

 

 

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

 

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to improving urban education.  In addition, the candidate must be willing to work evenings and weekends and travel to support program events.

 

·         A bachelor's degree

·         Two to three years of professional experience

·         Excellent written and communication skills

·         Excellent organizational and project management skills

·         Strong presentation skills

·         Outstanding problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects  and ambitious deadlines simultaneously

·         Focus on details and smooth logistics to deliver quality results

·         Strong commitment to service

·         Self-motivated with ability to anticipate and take initiative to work independently or collaboratively as needed

·         Ability to learn quickly and succeed in rapidly changing environment

·         Fluency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher) and basic Web browsers and searches

·         Familiarity with Salesforce, Constant Contact, Paperless Post, Clicktools a plus

COMPENSATION:

Salary and benefits will be competitive, commensurate with experience.
