[YEP-DC] Board Leadership and Development Program

In an effort to increase volunteerism and support for our member nonprofits, United Way of the National Capital Area (United Way NCA) Emerging Leaders will host its annual Board Leadership Development Program.   Through the program, selected participants will be matched with a United Way NCA member nonprofit to serve on its board of directors for one year. The Board Leadership Development Program is designed for people with limited or no board experience. You will learn the tools, knowledge and core competencies necessary to prepare you to serve on the boards of nonprofit organizations in our community. Registration to apply for our 2015 program is now open! Apply here today. Applications are due by April 11, 2015.  Only 25 Emerging Leaders will be selected to participate in the program. Selected participants will be required to attend a highly interactive class on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Upon completion of this class, Emerging Leaders will be required to perform one year of board service, as well as attend quarterly workshops to learn and share best practices surrounding board services.    If you have questions, please feel free to contact Mary Jo Bean.
