Paul PCS presents the 2nd Annual "My Brother's Keeper...Responding to the Call" in partnership with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, BMA Funders, Dream Works, Inc., Rebound for Success, and T.I.M.E., celebrating National Charter Schools Week & Teacher Appreciation Week.
Date: Thursday, May 7, 2015
Location: Paul Public Charter School
5800 Eighth Street, NW
Washington, DC 20011
Time: 5:15 - 8:30 p.m.
In February 2014, President Obama boldly announced “My Brother’s Keeper,” an initiative aimed to create opportunities for young boys and men to reach their full potential. Paul PCS responded to the call for action around this critical issue last year. We hosted an amazing event for our young boys of color, reception and forum for the community! We are in the midst of our research project, designed a new mentoring program for our 6th grade male scholars and will grow per grade each year. It has been a true success and we will continue to build on that success.
This May, Paul PCS will once again recognize National Charter Schools Week in conjunction with Teacher Appreciation Week by hosting our 2nd Annual forum on this critical issue: “My Brother’s Keeper…Responding to the Call.” Paul believes in educating all of our young boys of color through middle and high school in order to prepare them to go to and through college. Paul strives to continue the dialogue on this issue.
Join us in this conversation to address the prevailing issues facing young boys of color in the District of Columbia! Make sure you RSVP by May 6, 2015 through our EventBrite registration (SEE BELOW).
