[dcab-l] "Take Me Home, Clopper Road?!"

TRAD TRIVIA
Take Me Home, Clopper Road?!
On March 7, 2014, Take Me Home, Country Roads became the official song of the State of West Virginia. Ironically, the song was inspired by the scenery of Montgomery County, Maryland, not West Virginia. Bill Danoff, who wrote "Country Roads" with his wife Taffy Nivert and John Denver, revealed that the inspiration for the song was a drive down Clopper Road. Clopper Road was "almost heaven" in 1971 when the song was released, but now it's the heart of gridlock.

The northern part of Clopped Road still looks like it did when the song was composed.. Go to Google Maps using 15421 Clopper Rd, Boyds, Maryland 20841, and see the street view.
