We are looking for education professionals who:
-Are motivated by a sense of urgency so that each minute is used for learning
-Are highly successful academically
-Demonstrate continued mastery of content area(s)
-Embrace the Friendship PCS community and have a strong desire to teach the Students of culturally rich, but historically underserved, neighborhoods
-Will do "whatever it takes" to ensure that rigorous academic expectations are met or Exceeded by each student
-Strongly believe that it is ultimately your responsibility and within your ability as a Teacher to ensure that every student in your room meets or exceeds our school's high standards
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree or higher
-Minimum of one year classroom teaching experience
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of teachers
-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
-Desire to grow as an educational leader
-Successful completion of the Praxis II Exam and/or Highly Qualified to teach in Washington, DC

-For HQ requirements visit http://osse.dc.gov
Preferred Qualifications:
-Master's degree in Education or relevant field
-Experience as an exceptional urban classroom teacher who has produced quantifiable student performance gains
-Leadership experience in a school, building a culture, coaching and leading staff, and ensuring student academic success
-Three years of urban teaching preferred
