*Organization Background: *The Latino Student Fund (LSF) is an
education-based nonprofit organization in Washington, DC whose mission is
to provide educational opportunities for a strong academic foundation for
under-served PreK-12th grade students to promote higher education and
professional leadership.
 
*Position Description:* The LSF seeks a dynamic and talented Development
Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for
coordinating and implementing all fundraising activities to support the LSF
mission. Key duties will include: preparing the annual development plan;
managing relationships with current and prospective funders; managing
grants; coordinating events; and organizing direct mail and online
campaigns. The position requires an ability to juggle multiple fundraising
projects at once without sacrificing attention to detail. The Development
Manager will report directly to the Executive Director, and will supervise

*Qualifications:*
 
- Bachelor's degree;
- 4-6 years of proven experience managing nonprofit fundraising
programs, including grant-writing, special events, and direct mail;
- Demonstrated success soliciting and securing major gifts (5- and
6-figures) from foundations, corporations, and individuals;
- Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills;
- Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge fundraising software (required);
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities;
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision with multiple
competing deadlines;
- Outstanding multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities;
- Knowledge of the Washington, DC philanthropic and nonprofit community;
- Articulate and enthusiastic advocate of the LSF mission;
- Willingness to perform other job duties as assigned.

The Facilitator and Opportunity Fair applications are now open for YEP-DC's
3rd Annual Policy to Practice Conference, "The Future is Now: Investing in
Our Students." The Conference will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 from
9:00AM-3:15PM at Cesar Chavez Middle and High School Parkside Campus (3701
Hayes St NE).
 
We are looking for people to facilitate our three morning sessions, "Change
on the Ground: Students and Schools," "Change in the Community: Students
and Community Organizations," and "Big Picture Change: Students and
