[dcab-l] 2nd Song of Virginia: "My Home's Across the Blue Ridge Mts."

Bluegrassers and Songwriters:

I always enjoyed this tune, but thought there could be a better

story than what was generally sung.  So, I rewrote the song

with a Civil War theme.  I have attached my words, below.

This cut was recorded at Gantt Kushner’s sound studio “Gizmo

Recording” in Four Corners area of Silver Spring, in 2006”.

Musicians:

  Jack Sanbower      Banjo

  Carolyn Kellock     Bass

  Heather Twigg      Fiddle

  Frank Solivan II     Mandolin

  Ed Schaeffer          Rhythm Guitar

  Kevin Conroy         Lead Guitar

Jack Sanbower's banjo style consists of straight Scruggs, a

heavy dose of Don Reno, wonderful single string work, and

lots of blues.
