[YEP-DC] New YEP-DC Blog Post: The Evidence to Replace Out-of-School Suspensions

Out-of-school suspensions affect nearly 2 million students annually, but are they the best way to deal with disruptive behavior? Recess blogger Claire Bocage says no. In her first post for YEP-DC, Claire makes a case for replacing out-of-school suspensions with restorative practices that can cultivate stronger relationships between teachers and students, better decision-making and conflict-resolution skills for kids, and ultimately, a safer school environment.
