The Office of Human Capital in DC Public Schools is now accepting applications for the role of Coordinator of the Strategic School Operations Pilot (CSSO). Please see the attached overview of the SSO Pilot and position description for more information.
Beginning in the 2014-15 school year, DCPS will pilot a dramatically new approach to managing school operations based on the work of the highest-performing charter and district schools across the country. Nine DCPS schools will participate in the SSO pilot, with the hope of expanding this model across the district in future years: Anacostia HS, Bancroft ES, Brightwood EC, Columbia Heights EC, Coolidge HS, Jefferson MS, Leckie ES, Powell ES, and Marie Reed ES.
Pilot schools will add a Director of School Operations to lead a newly-formed school-based team charged with ensuring that operations are high-functioning so that school leaders and teachers can focus exclusively on student achievement and classroom instruction.
Applications are now open for the position of Coordinator of the Strategic School Operations Pilot (CSSO), and the position description is attached.
Candidates can apply for the CSSO position by emailing a resume and cover letter to teacher.effectiveness@dc.gov.
The CSSO will support the Director of the SSO Pilot in the design and implementation of the pilot. S/he will maintain and analyze data, provide scheduling and logistical support, and support the school-based Directors of School Operations and their teams as necessary. A critical component of the CSSO’s role will be to ensure the smooth collaboration and alignment between the nine pilot schools and central office.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, so candidates are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible.
