The Center for Education and Human Services, at SRI International, conducts a variety of both complex, large-scale research, evaluation, and technical assistance projects as well as smaller projects involving children, families, programs, teachers, and/or schools including in the area of early childhood. Many of these efforts involve working with state agency staff, funders, communities, schools, and programs to carry out research, evaluation, and technical assistance efforts. The successful applicant will work as part of a team to collect, track, and monitor data collection and technical assistance activities, including the development and implementation of databases to support data collection efforts, and monitor and support the work of staff across multiple organizations that partner with CEHS project staff. Other activities include reporting to and consulting with project leaders on work progress; creating and maintaining project management documents such as schedules, budgets, and status reports for clients compiling quantitative and qualitative data; supporting report and proposal writing; taking notes on conference calls and meetings; interacting with staff at field sites and at partner organizations; collecting data via phone interviews, and preparing materials for training sessions, project meetings, and other group activities. Some projects may require travel to other states for data collection or training activities. | |
One to two years' experience in a field such as early childhood development, education, special education, child development, and/or educational psychology required, with strong preference given for candidates who have experience and training in early child development and programs/services (birth to age 8). Outstanding organizational, writing, and people skills are essential, as are previous experience and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on teams. Attention to detail, ability to manage competing demands, good interpersonal skills, and proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other basic office software programs required. Oral and written facilities in a language other than English (e.g., Spanish) are highly desired.
