Young Education Professionals-DC Breakfast Club

Want to get more involved with YEP-DC and give back to the community? Are you looking for an opportunity to form relationships with YEP-DC members in a small group setting? The YEP-DC Breakfast Club might be just what you’re looking for.

How it works: Once a month on a Saturday, a small group of YEP-DC members will meet for a breakfast of networking and socializing, as well as a short volunteer project with a nonprofit organization in the area. The YEP-DC Breakfast Club occurs once a month, without the monthly commitment. You can sign up every month or just one time—it’s up to you. Each month the volunteer project and organization will be different.

Join us for the April Breakfast Club

Date: Saturday, April 19th

Organization: Iona Senior Services (4125 Albemarle St NW, Washington, DC 20016)

Iona supports people as they experience the challenges and opportunities of aging.  We educate, advocate, and provide community-based services to help people age well and live well. For more information visit http://www.iona.org.

Activity: YEP-DC members will assist Iona with their Weekend Meals Delivery program by sorting and packaging food to be delivered to their senior citizen clients.

Time: We will volunteer from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Brunch will follow at 11:15 a.m.

Breakfast/Brunch Details: Chadwicks (5247 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington DC 20015), immediately following the volunteer activity at 11:15 a.m. YEP members are responsible for paying for their own breakfast.

YEP-DC Members Needed: 6-8 YEP-DC members. Due to the limited amount of volunteer spots, please only sign-up if you are absolutely able to attend this volunteer experience—both breakfast and volunteering.
