Re: [dcab-l] That's SUNDAY, March 16th at JV's with Rattlesnake Hill (not Saturday)

Back in the 80's, I was asked to fill in with Arlie Walton whenever John Paganoni was away on a gig. It was an interesting place back then, only a mile or so from where I lived. There was an assortment of characters and regulars. I recall one lady carried a bowie knife on her belt.  Arlie was the singer and there was a red-headed guy, "Red", who played fiddle. I don't remember the bass player.
The wait staff would go table to table with a basket and firmly 'ask' patrons to tip the band... 
I see that Vernon Santmeyer is still playing there after all these years.
