Imagine Hope Community Charter School Lamond Campus has an  exciting opportunity  for a Kindergarten Teaching Assistsant .

Description

• Provide instructional and clerical support for classroom teacher
• Support and assist children in learning class material using the teacher's lesson plans
• Providing students with individualized attention
• Supervise students in the cafeteria, schoolyard , hallways and/or on field trips
• Record grades, setup equipment and help prepare materials for instruction
• Provide instructional reinforcement to children, under the direction and guidance of classroom teacher
• Review and reinforce class lessons
• Assisting classroom teacher by performing a combination of instructional and clerical duties.
• Perform some of the routine tasks that otherwise would have to be completed by classroom teacher

Requirements:

Must have two years of college
Experience in data driven teaching.
Strong classroom management.
Strong work ethic.Must be "results oriented".
Applicants with background experience in education ONLY need apply.

In accordance with the Federal No child Left Behind regulations, candidates must meet " highly qualified" teacher requirements before being hired for teaching positions.

For teachers in D.C. charter schools this means at least a bachelor's degree and successful completion of the Praxis exam in the core subject are of being taught.
