Year Up is a national, non-profit organization seeking 18-24 year-old students with a high school diploma or GED for a paid, year-long training and internship program on information technology and business. The next cohort starts in March 2013. Students are trained in computer hardware and software, communications, professional development and life skills for 5 months, and are placed at a Fortune 500 Company or major organization for a six-month internship. Students earn a bi-weekly stipend, up to 18 college credits and can complete CISCO certifications through the program as well. Within 4 months of completing the program, 85% of Year Up graduates are employed full time or enrolled in college full-time.

Applicants must attend a mandatory open house at Year Up, and submit an application by January 14th. It is free to apply!
Note: An evaluation funded by the federal government is being conducted to determine how Year Up helps people increase their skills and find jobs. There will be more applicants than spaces available in this program. Individuals who are eligible for the program and agree to participate in the study will be selected into the program based on a lottery.
