[YEP-DC] Video Producer Needed - Short Term

Dear YEP,

Below you will find the text of a job posting which I hope you will be able to circulate to your membership.  Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Video Producer

The National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ) is seeking a video producer to create five 5- minute videos that each highlight one of the nation's top teacher preparation programs. The videos are connected to a larger project in which NCTQ is rating the nation's 1,100+ teacher

preparation programs. The ratings will be published this spring in the U.S. News & World Report. The videos will be featured on the NCTQ and/or USNWR websites.

Responsibilities

Each video will focus on the unique aspects of an excellent teacher preparation program at a university that has already been identified by NCTQ. The video producer will work closely with a NCTQ staff member to determine the story line, conduct pre-interviews, and schedule in-person, on- site interviews. The on-site interviews will require travel to a different university for each video.

Once on-site at a university, the video producer will be responsible for all interviewing, shooting, and travel logistics. The video producer will then do all editing and production. NCTQ staff will contribute input during the editing process.

Timeline

Research and set-up for the videos will begin mid-February. We expect two videos to be completed by the end of March and one additional video to be completed every two weeks thereafter.

Qualifications

·    At least one year professional work experience or equivalent

·    Experience producing videos start-to-finish on deadline for clients

·    Project management experience a plus

·    Professional demeanor

·    Ability to travel 5 weekdays per month mid-February through mid-May

·    Access to professional-grade video and editing equipment

·    Ability to meet with NCTQ staff in their downtown-D.C. offices approximately once a week mid-February through mid-May

Compensation

The video producer will be paid $1,400 after completion of each video (for a total of $7,000 once all five videos are completed.) In addition, all travel expenses will be paid for by NCTQ.

How to Apply

Send the following to Ginger Moored at gmoored@nctq.org:

·    Resume

·    Cover letter

·    Links to 3 videos (approximately five minutes or less) for which you were the sole producer

·    Contact info for three professional references

·    Description of the video and editing equipment you have access to
