Imagine Schools was founded with the goal of restoring a sense of vision and purpose to the learning environment and to restoring schools and parents to full participation in and responsibility for the education of their children. Imagine Schools' founders, Dennis and Eileen Bakke, are passionate about making a difference in education by applying a unique organizational and operational structure guided by shared values of integrity, justice, and fun. This structure puts teachers and school leaders squarely in charge of the decisions affecting the schools they serve.

Our vision for new schools in the DC/MD region is to create dynamic, joy-filled learning communities where character is both taught and modeled, decision-making is shared, and all members of the school community take responsibility for achieving excellence. We seek to fulfill this vision through a commitment to content-rich learning, character development, and meaningful community.
