For all you Social Studies or ELA teachers out there, our education team at the Newseum just launched a new online resource for teaching about the presidential campaign and election through the lenses of history, civics and media literacy/critical thinking. Decision 2012: Exploring Elections and the Media includes interactive content for students -- a video timeline, a game, an enriched photo gallery -- plus tons of downloadable primary sources and ready-to-go lesson plans. The content is adaptable for middle school through college. You have to log in to see the full content, but it's completely free to register. We strive to make all of our resources in-depth but also flexible, so take a look to see if there are any elements that might work in your classrooms this fall -- and save you a few hours of lesson planning!
If you have any questions, feel free to email me. Enjoy!
