Research Analyst
Exempt 12 months, full-time
The Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Assessment (IRPA) at the University of Maryland is seeking a Research Analyst to join its enrollment, policy and planning team. This position responds to institutional needs for policy analysis, assessment, and examination of enrollment and employment trends. The position is responsible for the design and execution of data analyses, policy analysis, and statistical studies. As a member of the IRPA staff, the Research Analyst will serve as a liaison to colleges and provide subject area expertise on specific topics.
The office has a robust and complex data warehouse which can be accessed for analytic purposes through a variety of reporting and statistical tools. In addition to retrieving data for analytic and reporting purposes, members of the IRPA staff assist in tasks related to data integrity and the design of new reporting tools.
Job Qualifications:
· Master's degree in higher education, social science or related field plus one year of full time (or part-time equivalent) experience in institutional research, educational research, applied statistics, or related field required. Related experience in government or industry may be substituted.
· Demonstrated expertise in reporting/querying tools; statistical methods; research design and measurement required. Knowledge of Hyperion /Brio, SAS, SPSS, or SQL and experience with large data sets or data warehouses a plus.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as experience in development of reports and presentation required.
· Ability to work in team and group environments essential.
· US Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
