Community Bridges, Inc. has served low-income girls from diverse backgrounds in the Silver Spring/Takoma Park area of Montgomery County, MD since 1997.  We are a grassroots, community-based nonprofit, founded on the belief that all girls are infinitely capable of succeeding in life as strong and confident young women. We empower young girls to become excellent students, positive leaders and healthy young women.  We fulfill our mission through our programs and community/family events.

 

We are seeking to fill the full-time, exempt position of Manager of Girl Programs, effective immediately.

DESCRIPTION

 

Job Information

 

The Manager of Girl Programs position manages and oversees the development and implementation of our girl programs at multiple elementary, middle and high schools as well as other community venues in the Silver Spring/Takoma Park area. This position reports to the Executive Director and will work with Community Bridges staff and board of directors, as needed, to oversee the development, execution and evaluation of all of our programs.

 

Key Responsibilities

·        Supervise, train, evaluate, and develop a staff of program managers, volunteers, and social work interns.

·        Maintain accurate and complete records on each employee, volunteer and intern.

·        Coordinate the development of programs, including resource development.

·        Coordinate volunteer/intern recruitment, retention and evaluation and oversee their integration into programs.

·        Spearhead curriculum development efforts.

·        Develop and implement program evaluation.

·        Write monthly reports and/or grant reports based on data and information gathered.

·        Develop relationships with key school staff, such as principals, counselors, etc. at each CB school.

·        Assist program managers with recruitment efforts.

·        Work with staff to develop and implement events for the girls.

·        Identify and get involved in community collaborations, meetings and other gatherings with other social service/youth providers.

·        Serve as an expert on community issues (i.e. teen pregnancy, bullying, etc.).

·        Provide trainings throughout the community.

·        Fill-in for program staff

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and Credentials

 

·        Bachelor's Degree required

·        Social work license required

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

 

·        Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise, develop, and lead a staff

·        Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate a curriculum

·        Skilled at collaborating with others and building relationships

·        Prior experience working with pre-adolescent girls

·        Prior experience in the areas of female empowerment, social justice and social change

·        Bilingual, English-Spanish, speaker highly desired

 

EMPLOYMENT TERMS

 

As a condition of employment with Community Bridges, any successful job applicant will be required to pass a criminal background and driving record check

 

The Manager of Girl Programs is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Executive Director.
