You're invited to the ETS Research Forum: Fault Lines in Our Democracy: Civic Knowledge, Voting Behavior, and Civic Engagement in the United States
Register here to attend this ETS Research Forum. A new report from ETS addresses the connection between gaps in educational attainment and civic involvement, which is especially relevant in light of the upcoming national elections. Fault Lines in Our Democracy: Civic Knowledge, Voting Behavior, and Civic Engagement in the United States takes an in-depth view of civic knowledge and engagement and examines how it differs across important segments of our population. The United States faces challenges of historic proportions — including a struggling economy, an aging infrastructure and global terrorism. Solutions will have to come from educated, skilled citizens who understand and believe in our democratic system. At this forum, authors Richard J. Coley and Andrew Sum will discuss their disturbing findings and their call for sustained efforts on a number of fronts to increase the civic engagement of the U.S. population across all strata of society and restore a more participatory democracy. The presentation will be followed by lunch and a panel discussion. If you need additional information or have questions, please contact Elizabeth Kingsley at ekingsley@ets.org or 1-202‑659‑8060.
