KIPP DC is a network of high-performing, college-preparatory charter schools in Washington D.C. which serve the city's most under-resourced communities. POSITION OVERVIEW:
KIPP DC seeks an experienced Federal Grants Manager to join the KIPP DC Team. The Federal Grants Manager will be responsible for managing a variety of federal grants, as well as developing relationships with grant-making organizations. Approximately 60% of this individual's time will be allocated to the Race to the Top – District Capital Teaching Residency (CTR) grant. CTR will train over 400 aspiring teachers through an intensive one-year residency in high performing public charter schools, and retain our most effective teachers in partner schools across the DC region. This position reports to the Director of Accountability & Federal Grants and works closely with the other members of the Compliance Team and the programmatic grant leads. She/he will also collaborate closely with cross-functional peers from other teams such as Finance and the Development Team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compliance
· Analyze grant agreement commitments and help ensure programs funded by public money (e.g., No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and Race to the Top) comply with all commitments
· Organize and conduct periodic grant performance and administrative compliance reviews
· Help ensure partner agreements and procurement processes involving public grant money are compliant with commitments linked to funding.
· Maintain strong relationships with public donors and program officers.
Reporting & Invoicing
· Coordinate the development of progress reports, as required by grant agreements
· Report project and program milestones for NCLB and Race to the Top grants
· Maintain accurate and timely invoicing for a variety of federal grants and programs, including: E-Rate, NCLB, National School Lunch Program, Healthy Schools Act (HSA), Fresh Fruits & Vegetables Program, and Race to the Top
· Work with Finance team to maximize and fully utilize funding and prepare for financial audits, particularly the A-133.
Proposal Development
· Acquire and maintain sound knowledge and understanding of KIPP DC; use that knowledge and understanding to better help KIPP DC's Development team identify public grant opportunities
· Coordinate the development of federal grant applications, including writing substantial portions of these applications; work with programmatic teams to ensure grant proposals accurately reflect instructional goals and approaches; work with finance and programmatic teams to develop budget portions of grant proposals
Collaboration
· Partner with federal grant programmatic leads to ensure full accountability and implementation of the grant objectives.
· Work with multiple team members to gather information necessary for grant reporting
· Maintain consistent communication with teams regarding their progress towards grant targets
