[YEP-DC] Game New Orleans Charter School Seeks Founding Team

Hey y'all,

My name is Josh Densen and I was part of a predecessor YEP group in NYC back in 2002.  I am also the founder and school leader of Bricolage Academy, a new charter school scheduled to open in New Orleans in 2013.  We see ourselves as the next step in educational equity and are looking for others who believe in our mission and values to join us.

We've just started hiring our founding team and I want to share our positions with your network.  Here's a little about the positions we're hiring for and who we are thinking about for each:

Kindergarten Teachers (starting next school year)

we're looking for teachers who:

• spark & fuel students' ideas and intrinsic motivation rather than provide procedures them to follow 
• have management fundamentals down so much that their students own the classroom
• take risks and get creative instructionally and value academic rigor and accountability

Director of Finance and Operations (starting now)

we're looking for someone who:

• is a rockstar in the ops/strategy of a new school and can be trained on the finances, or vice-versa
• is ultra-reliable, comfortable quantitatively & detail oriented

Director of Family and Community Engagement  (starting now)

we're looking for someone who:

• is from the communities we are serving - and remember it's a socio-economically diverse school
• understands the challenges of being a parent, and is really great with people - they'll be interacting with diverse groups of parents constantly, focusing on recruitment, enrollment and satisfaction 

Director of Special Education (starting next school year)

• someone who is a SPED expert who wants to set the structures and foundations for our SPED program and...
• can also be a SPED teacher providing the direct support to students with special needs
