Assistant Head of School, Performance
MISSION
To proactively drive a highly accountable, results-driven team culture; aggressively lead and manage the organization’s compliance and accountability policies and mandates to achieve the highest performance;
actively lead and manage outcomes of leadership team in the execution of policies and procedures to achieve a results-driven, highly accountable school culture.
OUTCOMES |
1. 100% of Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), DC Public Charter School Board (PCSB), federal, and local accountability and compliance requirements are achieved. · Coordinate with school staff to produce and submit required reports in a professional, complete, accurate, and timely manner. |
1. Drive the school’s data-driven culture by refining and strengthening data systems. · Utilize student information system (PowerSchool) to drive compliance, accountability, and performance through strong data management and stakeholder reporting. |
2. Monthly organizational dashboard for all stakeholders drives consistency and accountability schoolwide. · Dashboard includes Academic Targets for SY 12-13 (as established by Board of Trustees). o Targets include: Staff and student attendance, academic achievement data, teacher evaluation data, etc. |
3. Serve as initial point of contact and solve problems for parents and external parties on a daily basis while maintaining close alignment with school’s values. · Actively trouble-shoot challenges through resolution. |
4. Establish quarterly organizational meetings. · Quarterly meetings are defined by specific, measurable outcomes achievable on a monthly basis. · Quarterly meetings advance organizational communication, planning, and a results-driven staff culture. |
5. Represent the Head of School on a broad range of external organization, program, policy, and other complex issues. · Maintain a formal weekly debrief meeting schedule (more often as needed) to update Head of School and obtain necessary policy guidance. |
6. Write/submit annual Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Consolidated Application for Title I, Title II, Title III, Title IV, Title V, and IDEA Part B. Collaborate with Head of School to set funding priorities. |

8. Actively post and conduct the initial screening of teacher candidates following the established candidate screening process (Phases 1 – 2). · Review initial resume submission. Invite select candidates to participate in Phase 2 of recruitment process. · Review Phase 2 materials. Recommend and schedule up to 15 viable candidates to Head of School per month. |

Qualifications
Septima Clark Public Charter School is a No Excuses school designed to eliminate the achievement gap for boys. This mission is accomplished through an extended school day (7:00 – 5:00pm). A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required. Four years of mid-level leadership experience managing organizational systems and driving performance is required. Competitive candidates must meet the Essential Competencies identified above. Mandatory expectations: Exceptional leadership, writing, speaking, organizational skills, and demonstrated skilled proficiency using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
