[YEP-DC] Hiring: NASFAA Policy Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:
The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) seeks to hire a Policy Analyst with experience and skills in public policy and advocacy to become a member of the Policy & Federal Relations team. The person selected will operate in a fast-paced environment and will manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

The Policy Analyst will work closely with all members of the Policy & Federal Relations team and will:
-Develop advocacy materials, including letters to Congress, position statements, and grassroots initiative communications
-Assist in the development and recommendation of public policy positions on current and proposed legislation and regulation
-Attend and report on legislative hearings and events and coalition meetings
-Assist in the planning and organization of NASFAA sponsored policy forums and events
-Analyze, interpret, and write about current and proposed legislation and/or regulations
-Research Title IV laws and current regulatory and administrative issues
-Gather background facts, data, and statistics on financial aid from Department of Education and other similar sources
-Assist with creation, data management, and analysis of online member-based surveys
-Contribute original content to NASFAA publications including Today's News, the Journal of Student Financial Aid, and the NASFAA Advocate
-Work with NASFAA members
-Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
-Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) plus at least 3 years experience in higher education policy or government relations and/or experience in an aid office
-Excellent communication and presentation skills
-Excellent proven research, writing and organizational skills
-Strong understanding of federal legislative and regulatory processes
-Experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously

Salary: $55,000-$65,000
