[dcab-l] Kennedy Center call for guitarists this Sunday

Good Evening Folk Friends of Greater Washington,

As most of you know, the Millennium Stage is the Kennedy Center's daily, free concert series. It is broadcast live over the internet, and archived for future viewing. In addition to presenting concerts that are enjoyed simply by watching and listening, we really enjoy presenting performance opportunities that allow the audience to be part of the art and participate in the fun.

So with that in mind, on Sunday, October 14, from 6:00-7:00pm, Tom Paxton, Noel Paul Stookey, Tim O'Brien, and Mark Schatz, will be leading a Woody Guthrie Hootenanny Guitar Jam and Sing-Along Session. We will warm up voices and tune guitars at 5:30pm. We suggest lining up for entry no later than 5pm (probably sooner, really). We're still working out the details of the song list, but I can guarantee it will be GOOD, and definitely a night to remember. We'll have lyrics printed with the Guthrie's blessing in a program book, and guitar chords on a screen above the stage. This performance is part of the Woody Guthrie at 100 Celebration, with events happening at various places around the city, and several at the Center.
