Every year in schools across the country, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) students and teachers make the choice to openly live their dreams as educators, artists, and future leaders. LGBT History Month is an opportunity for everyone to celebrate the expansion of LGBT rights while remembering that the work for equal rights continues. With remarks given by Lisa Clarke, Teaching Ambassador Fellow at the U.S. Department of Education, and the performance of Dreams of Hope, a queer youth performing arts group, LGBT and Allied Employees at ED will celebrate how far our schools have come in supporting LGBT youth and educators and acknowledge the work yet to be done.
Please see the attached flier for more details.
