The No Kid Hungry Field Operations Associate will be responsible for providing operations support between the No Kid Hungry Field Team in the Program Department and the broader organization. Under the direction of the Field Director, the Field Operations Associate will work closely with the Field Managers and other members of the Program Department to provide high quality operations support and maintain communication between the Field Team and other departments throughout Share Our Strength.

  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance to the Field Team and other departments.
  • Evaluation and development of organizational communications needs concerning No Kid Hungry Field work and programmatic successes. This includes working closely with other departments to assess their information needs and helping to create efficient solutions that meet those needs.
  • Development and production of materials to keep the organization up to date on the field activities such as briefings, budget documents, PowerPoint presentations, reconciliation documents, and meeting agendas.
  • Work closely with Field Managers, the Center for Best Practices, and the Planning & Measurement team to research and maintain a working knowledge base of metrics related to the Federal Nutrition Programs, program goals and campaign accomplishments. The Field Associate will take the lead on identifying ways to package and communicate that data to other internal teams.
  • Support data management for campaign states.
  • Coordinate internal organizational communications, including scheduling meetings, identifying action items, and producing reports for directors on the work happening among the state and city partnerships.
  • Represent the Field Team in interdepartmental meetings and internal projects.
  • Support advocacy efforts and list management for organizational events within the Program Department.
  • Coordinate the approval of grant & program reporting materials internally by working with the Communications department, Creative Enterprise & Development (CED) department, and the Field Managers.
  • Manage internal and external information requests about state and city partnerships from within and outside of the organization.
  • Identify and document best practices and lessons learned.  Perform root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify corrective actions and improvements to current policies and procedures.
  • Provide back-up support to the Field Director when required.
  • Provide administrative oversight as required. This will include scheduling, arranging travel, coordinating the execution of contracts, and payment of invoices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, community development, public service or a related discipline preferred and at least 2 years' related experience required.
  • Project management experience and/or operational management experience is also an asset.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace with a high level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple activities, events, and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience or knowledge of federal nutrition programs preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
  • Short and long-range planning and follow-through skills required.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and tailor strategies to meet their needs most effectively.
  • Ability to work occasional weekend and evening events as necessary.
  • Proficient computer skills, including the operation of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% percent will be required.
