Marketing and Communications Intern
Great Minds is a nonprofit education advocacy organization located in Washington, D.C. that has been working hand-in-hand with school districts and state departments of education around the country to bring content-rich, rigorous curriculum to America's public schools. Our vision is to provide all students with the knowledge they need to engage in civic, academic, and professional contexts with ease and success.
The Marketing & Communications Intern will gain valuable work experience in a fast-paced and challenging environment that provides opportunities to learn from and interact with highly regarded education policy experts, school reformers, and leading consultants.
Job Qualifications
Open to all undergraduate or graduate students interested in K-12 education and/or communications. Strong organizational and writing skills needed, plus knowledge of social media. Familiarity with Common Core State Standards is helpful.
Job Description
The Marketing & Communications Intern will:
- Help develop the organization's social media strategy
- Assist with data management as part of a major systems architecture project
- Aid with the development of the organization's updated website through content production and data migration
- Provide administrative support to the communications team
Interns may either receive college credit for an accredited program or will be paid hourly according to level of education or experience. Great Minds will seek to work with interns to establish hours that accommodate individual class schedules. However, travel to the DC office (1 block from the Navy Yard metro stop) will be required weekly. Transportation issues will be addressed on an individual basis.
