Project Manager Description: School Readiness Consulting seeks an experienced Project Manager to join our leadership team. The successful applicant for this job will possess a strong early childhood development and project management background and be able to assist in the development and implementation of our practice, evaluation and policy portfolio. This part-time contract position is for twelve months, and based on performance, may include opportunities for increased work within the SRC portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Attend trainings and meetings to support project execution (some travel may be required)
- Train members of the School Readiness Consulting team on early childhood protocol and practices
- Participate in team leadership meetings twice per month to ensure clear communication and task completion
- Shared responsibility of other essential tasks, such as developing protocols, trainings, and efficient data tracking systems with our practice, evaluation and policy partners
- Contribute to process improvements by working with Project Director and co-Project Manager
- Participate in the feedback loop to capture experiences and to modify processes based on those experiences. Provide expertise to analyze and resolve problems and develop appropriate policies and procedures to support current team best practices
- Work approximately 80 hours per month, with the understanding that the success of our team depends on an ongoing flexibility and willingness to contribute, as needed, to bring about the successful delivery of the agreed upon tasks with our partners
Qualifications:
- Experience in project management in the field of early childhood education or similar field
- A minimum of 5 years of previous experience in project management and as a supervisor with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Experience with work plans, budget management, and with resource scheduling
- Demonstration of high energy, flexibility in changing situations, strong interpersonal and communications skills, and team leadership skills
- Must have the ability to work with a diverse set of people, ranging from children and elementary school teachers to project directors of national research organizations
- Genuine interest and support of the School Readiness Consulting mission and culture
- Proficiency in Google Calendar, Google Forms and Documents, Proficiency in Excel
- Computer and internet access are required
- A twelve month commitment is required

- This position is a contract position without benefits or leave compensation. Compensation occurs monthly.

School Readiness Consulting: Part-time Writing Fellow (9/5/13). This position is based in a home office anywhere in the U.S., and is available immediately.

Our Senior Leadership Team is responsible for sharing our ideas and innovations in a clear and compelling way both to our external and internal audiences. We seek to develop resources and craft evidence to support client investment in our work.

As a Writing Fellow, you will research the cross-section between early childhood education policy and practice with our current project portfolio. In particular, the Fellow will help SRC become published in a national publication geared at the ECE and education communities, and will support proposal development for future work.
We expect our Writing Fellow to:
• Partner with SRC team members. You'll regularly interact with project directors and managers, our Director, and external clients, including school district, charter school management organization, and state education leaders. You will listen to their challenges, ask thoughtful questions, and develop finely tuned communiqués that SRC can use to promote its work across social media and marketing platforms
• Connect the dots. You'll use your communication, research and problem solving skills to research and generate content that draws attention to the significant accomplishments we, and our partners, achieve through our work.
• Write tightly to tell our story. You're a sharp writer who knows how to convey the story and encourage to action, succinctly. You create thoughtful and compelling insights that are both formal and informal, inciting interest from all engaged in early learning.
• Love Data. Your experience analyzing data and making it come alive will be crucial.
