ABOUT THE HARWOOD INSTITUTE
The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation is a Bethesda, Maryland-based nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that teaches, coaches, and inspires individuals and organizations to solve pressing problems and change the way communities work together. We are a small, mission-driven organization with an entrepreneurial spirit. Over the past 25 years, our approach to change has spread across the U.S. and increasingly around the world, and we have partnered with some of the world's largest nonprofits, including United Way Worldwide, AARP, the American Library Association, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and others.
At a time when the narrative is that we are a divided people and when leaders seem to be more focused on their own good than the common good, our singular aim is to help people come together, get things done that matter, and do that in a way that makes community a common enterprise again.
