[YEP-DC] Temporary Forum Leader Position with Envision EMI!

We are seeking dynamic individuals to work with high-achieving scholars this coming summer.   All positions are residential and require long hours and absolute commitment to youth education, training and development.  Staff members continually return to work with us each summer to inspire, educate and motivate a future generation of leaders.  

 

These career-specific, multi-day residential program offerings are an intense and stimulating exploration of specific fields of interest.  Held each summer at renowned educational/medical centers in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dubuque, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, Raleigh, San Francisco, Washington D.C. and New York, these programs offer immersion experiences in career-specific topics for high school and middle school students.  Programs provide participants a sense of the academic preparation necessary for a successful career in specific areas.  Students also develop skills in critical decision-making, learn to differentiate between basic stages of research and develop an appreciation for the social, financial and emotional responsibilities of the specific career. 

 

Forum Leader Position

The Forum Leader is responsible for oversight of all academic elements of a specific Envision program - delivering the highest quality curriculum, true-to-life simulations and college-level work. This includes direct and indirect facilitation of the designed curricula, adapting to any scheduling conflicts, actively coaching and supervising academic staff and resolving challenges as they arise. The Forum Leader ensures that the objectives and quality of the conference remains true to the Envision academic vision. Forum Leaders report directly to the Program/Regional Manager, with oversight by home office Director..

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•Demonstrate leadership that aligns and improves the experience of scholars attending the program

•Ensures the highest quality of academic program components including but not limited to: delivery of lectures/case studies, guest speaker management, off-site(s) coordination and simulation(s) execution 

•Training, certification and performance evaluation of the academic staff 

•Recommending adjustments to program schedules as a result of challenges encountered during program execution while maintaining the overall quality of the program 

•Coaching and encouraging Faculty Advisors to enhance morale and team cohesion 

•Participating in all mandatory daily meetings with the Senior Leadership team to ensure the success of the conference 

•Debriefing the day's accomplishments/challenges with the Academic Team at the nightly meeting and planning for the following days' schedule 

•Participating fully in daily activities and meetings as schedule permits – including arrival and departure responsibilities, programming and pre- and post-conference meetings with the entire conference staff

•Serve on call (scheduled and emergency) and be responsive to the multiple customer audiences (scholars, parents, vendors, company leadership, etc.)

•Reside at conference site as required

•Travel as required

 

Job Requirements:

•Undergraduate Degree required, Graduate degree and/or professional experience in a directly related field is preferred 

•Must have prior teaching or professional experience, background knowledge and/or related course work in the field of study 

•Dynamic public speaking skills are required and necessary to fulfill the Program Director position 

•High energy, motivated team player with enthusiasm for teaching middle and high school students

•Must be 21 years or older 

•Strong communication skills

•Reside at conference site during designated program sessions

•Attend a mandatory training session prior to the first conference session

•Pass a mandatory criminal background check

•Hold valid driver’s license with good driving background

•A minimum of one year managerial experience is required
