[YEP-DC] Center for Urban Education Master of Arts in Teaching Programs Welcomes Applicants TODAY!

Greetings!

Want to earn a master's degree in education and become certified to teach in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and 50 reciprocal states?  It's not too late!  The Center for Urban Education at the University of the University of the District of Columbia welcomes applications for the following graduate-level programs:

Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education
Master of Arts in Teaching, Elementary Education
Master of Arts in Teaching, Middle School Science
Master of Arts in Teaching, Secondary English/Language Arts
Master of Arts in Teaching, Secondary Social Studies
Master of Arts in Teaching, Secondary Mathematics

Candidates invited to participate in this program will:
  • Experience the opportunity to earn a master's degree at a discounted rate for District of Columbia and DC Metro residents
  • Gain multi-year teaching experience in DC Public and Public Charter Schools, which overwhelmingly lead to full-time, permanent positions
  • Be sponsored for initial licensure and certification from the Office of the State School Superintendent (OSSE), which carries reciprocity in surrounding counties and districts and all 50 states pending completion of the program and all assessment guidelines
  • Enjoy regular scaffolding and support from university faculty members, on-ground teaching supervisors, mentor teachers, and DC Public and Public Charter School staff
  • Receive high-quality instruction from dedicated professors, practicing classroom teachers, and current practitioners

The application deadline for the Master of Arts and Master of Arts in Teaching programs is JULY 31, 2014.  All applicants must submit:

  1. A brief statement of purpose
  2. Two letters of recommendation
  3. A $50 graduate application fee
