Well the time for the big party is upon us... THIS SATURDAY (May 11th) is the Loudoun Bluegrass Festival. Great line up of teachers (workshops), pickers, crafters, wineries, pizza, BBQ, beer, kids shows and activities, contests, prizes, raffles, barn dance, massages, instruments to buy, instruments to win, and jam sessions of many kinds. Rain or shine we are going to be making history and hope you will be there to enjoy it. Lots of the regular suspects will be there and some others too. The Quebe Sisters Band (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dZtzktjOGQ), and Audie Blaylock with Patrick McAvinue, Jesse Brock, and Russ Carson and the gang (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTGX_FRoxmo). The hilarious and groovin Hot Seats will be playing the barn dance and Janine Smith will be callin it, no experience necessary.
Also there will be jam sessions wiht leaders through the day so shy folks fear not. Slow jam, Irish jam, and an old time jam (with the great Paul Brown) are all on the schedule too!
Last chance to save $5 a ticket to get the advance price is now so hesitate no longer and quick get on the website and get a bunch for you and your pals. Adult tickets will be $20 at the gate for the whole day of music and workshops and jams etc. All profits go to local kids scholarships. And please spread the word and remind your friends and family. Bluegrassers occasionally forget stuff and need remindin... I would tell you some examples, but I forget them at the moment.. ;)
