Internship Opportunity
Summer at Siena
During the Siena Summer Academic Program, there is an opportunity to work as an intern in the classroom. This experience is for college students entering their Senior year or recent college graduates who are pursuing or are interested in the field of education, in particular working with young learners who have mild language-based learning difficulties.
This is an unpaid internship position. The length of the summer academic program is four weeks from June 30th - July 25th* and runs from 8:15am - 12:15pm. Students rotate through classes in reading, writing, and mathematics, followed by a tutorial period.
* Please note: interns are expected to attend the faculty orientation on
June 23rd, 2015, and be available the entire summer.
Responsibilities
- Assist main teacher in the classroom
- Lead warm-up activities
- Help students use assistive technologies
- Assist with individualized and small-group instruction
- Foster The Siena School culture and model expectations accordingly
- Report to the Summer Coordinator
