DC Public Charter School Board Internship Program
DC Public Charter School Board Internship Program is searching for high achieving college students and graduate students in Washington, DC who are interested in learning more about DC charter schools and are committed to the mission of providing quality public school options for DC students and families. Depending on the interns' interests, they have the opportunity to experience working in a variety of fields – data management and analysis, finance and operations, communications and social media, fundraising and development, human capital management, school support and education policy. Through their work with PCSB, interns will gain a great deal of knowledge about the public education system in DC, the challenges it faces, and the charter school sector.
About the Internship
The PCSB Internship Program is currently accepting applicants from rising college juniors and seniors, recent college graduates, and students enrolled in graduate programs.
Summer 2014 Program Dates: June 9, 2014 – August 16, 2014
During the summer, interns are expected to contribute 24-32 hours/week of their time. Exact days and times are determined in conjunction with the intern's manager.
In addition to working directly with our staff on engaging projects, interns benefit from a variety of professional development opportunities including participation in discussions on various topics in education, mentorships, and opportunities to network and learn about education policy by attending events in Washington, D.C.
Internships are unpaid, however we do offer a $500 stipend and a partial transportation benefit. We are happy to work with you to satisfy any requirements your school has for receiving course credit.

Qualifications
Potential interns should have an interest in and commitment to improving public education, strong writing and analytic skills, attention to detail, ability to solve problems and juggle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to work well both independently and with others. Adaptability, initiative, and a desire to reflect and receive constructive feedback to develop skills are essential. Data analysis experience using Excel is a plus for certain positions.
