Job Function:
The Senior Budget, Reporting and Financial Analyst will be responsible for all reporting, forecasting and budgeting for the organization. The position will be part of the Finance department reports directly to the Director of Finance and Operations. The selected candidate will the sole individual responsible for these functions, needs to be comfortable with limited supervision and guidance, and ready to take the "bull by the horns".
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Support, consolidate and coordinate annual budget cycle with organizational leaders and department leads.
· Receive the budget estimates from all departments and critically examine them for correctness, accuracy and completeness.
· Analyze the previous budgets and actuals taking into consideration the benefits and losses incurred.
· Suggest suitable amendments to the budget.
· Monitor the budget throughout the year and provide updated forecasts based on business drivers and economic changes.
· Consolidate budget, forecast and actual data for presentation and reporting to provide an overview on the financial health of the organization.
· Prepare detailed reports about discrepancies, variances and amendments to the budget.
· Provide analysis of the monthly close and locate large variances to budget in conjunction with Accounting Manager.
· Work in conjunction with Grants Manager to ensure the Grants Budgets are being appropriately tracked.
· Render financial advice to Senior Management to undertake financial planning and decision-making.
· Support the creation of long-term strategies to improve the financial goals of the organization.
· Support the creation of policies, work procedures, and assignments to improve budget management operations across the organization.
· Perform ad-hoc analysis and data requests.
Minimum Qualifications:
· BA of BS in a quantitative field required (Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, etc.); Master's degree preferred
· Three years minimum work experience in data analysis, accounting or statistics required
· Demonstrated strong analytical and report writing skills and sound knowledge of micro-computer applications – particularly Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and V-lookups); Dynamics GP (Great Plains), Forecaster and Management Reporter (FRx replacement) desired
· Demonstrated understanding of the use of information and data as it relates to systems, stakeholders, decision making and support of organizational leadership
· Demonstrated broad communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, ability to work individually with management and collaboratively with organizational departments and excellent customer service and administrative skills
· Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and to handle confidential information
· Ability to work in an environment of constant quality improvement and change and to accurately perform under stress
Salary is commensurate with position, experience and qualifications.
