What is DC LINKs?
Promoting High Quality Early Education

DC LINKs (Leaders Investing in our Nation's Kids) is a
"Community of Practice" that works together
in promoting teacher effectiveness and implementing high-quality early childhood education. With the generous support of Fight For Children , Meyer FoundationPNC , Stranahan Foundation, and Washington Area Women's Foundation , AppleTree is leading a series of four workshops in early 2012. This series will introduce the DC community to Every Child Ready, AppleTree's comprehensive instructional model for preschool.
What is Every Child Ready?
Increasing Teacher Effectiveness and Children's Learning

Every Child Ready is a comprehensive instructional model that drives how to teach, what to teach and how to tell it's being done to increase teacher effectiveness and children's learning. It is a set of resources that marries proven processes for increasing the quality of teacher-child interactions to meaningful content aligned with the Common Core. Every Child Ready  honors children's development and teachers' professionalism by providing both structure and flexibility to meet all children's needs.

Every Child Ready is the work of AppleTree, an innovative nonprofit that develops and provides proven early childhood education programs to the most underserved three- and four-year-olds to close the achievement gap before students enter kindergarten. AppleTree is expanding and scaling Every Child Ready as a national prototype for improved teacher effectiveness.
