Special Education Teacher

 

Mosaica Education, Inc. - Seeking a Special Education Teacher at Howard Road Academy for the 2012-2013 school year.

Position Summary

 

The school will incorporate a core curriculum with the Paragon Curriculum and a magnet-like Arts and Technology focus that links core learning with multiple learning styles.  Paragon engages students with hands-on exploration and reinforces core morning classes by addressing varying student learning styles.  Our Staff will work together with parents, involving them in the education of their children and forming a partnership aimed at increasing each child’s academic achievement.   

 

Candidates should be experienced and skilled in: 

 

·         Facilitating IEP Meetings 

·         Writing IEP goals and objectives

·         Conducting diagnostic assessments for driving instruction 

·         Experience required working in Resource Room model or co-teaching in a full room inclusion type model

·         Conducting a functional behavioral assessment and writing/implementing a behavior improvement plan.

 

Required Education/Skills

 

·         Bachelor Degree in Education, Special Education, or related field; Master’s preferred

·         Minimum 2 years of classroom experience, preferred

·         MUST be Highly Qualified by the Department of Education. 

·         MUST have experience working with youth in an urban/inner city.

·         Preference will be given to those with a proven track record of academic improvement supported by recent data.
